Way up to the north of Manila, high in the mountains are the lovely little towns of Banaue and Sagada. One has the world's most beautiful rice terraces (trust me on this one); the other is simply a charming place to relax. And, in betwen the two, you have a big concrete Mary (Jesus's mum) and a diner that serves grilled puppy dogs. What more could you want?
