Panic Management - sending out the right message in order
to keep the population in a heightened state of awareness, without
freaking people out completely.
People based channel: A non-electronic means of selling,
for instance, a shop.
Perception
management - managing perceptions in your favour. For instance
telling people your results will be diabolical so that they
will be pleased when they are merely crap.
Political
equity - what big corporate donors hope they are buying.
Pornographic e-mmunity: the peculiar ethical quirk which
means that while it's considered a laugh to send your friends
images of scarcely imaginable turpitude via e-mail, producing
the same material in magazine form would result in them never
speaking to you again.
Power
tea - similar to a power lunch, but normally involving earl
grey and perhaps scones and done around four o'clock in the
afternoon. See also, power brunch, power supper, power elevenses,
tiffin, etc.
Presenteeism
- working long hours (often needlessly) because of either a
macho culture, fear for your job and unnatural love of your
job or a combination of the three.
Pushing the envelope - approaching the limits of what
can be done. Actually comes from US test-pilots in the 1940s;
now so overused as to be virtually meaningless.
